Tuesday Training Byte- House Bound?

I lived in Wyoming for 20 years. In Wyoming, winter lasts about 9 months! I had competition obedience dogs so had to get creative for training. With recent winter weather, I used those indoor training opportunities. We practiced heeling around the coffee table, stays while I stepped into the next room, "push-ups" (a quick series of sit, down, sit down, sit, down) followed by play time and praise. We practiced catching the treat in midair that was tossed, and focus, focus, focus. This is more like fun and games, but it builds the eagerness to work. It is fun to teach a trick while you are at it. These short sessions are great at breaking the winter boredom, lots of fun for building better obedience skills.
